What is the first day of production?
The first real day of production is not known. We assume that the Elio will be produced in 2018. For the purposes of this calculator, we are assuming that Monday January 1, 2018 will be the first production day (the first full week in 2018.) The base production date will be altered as new information comes out.

Where did this date range come from?
On August 25, 2014, Silas Sunday created the production estimate graph below. The graph shows a blue line representing a single shift running at the Shreveport, LA assembly line. The blue numbers on the left represent how many Elio autocycles are projected to be produced over time. The top numbers project the total vehicle created to date. And the bottom numbers describe a block of ten working days at a time (2 weeks M-F). The orange line represents a second shift starting up to boost production. A simple mapping of the top and bottom numbers are used to project the date you can drive your Elio home. The date may actually be sooner than the projection because the graph shows full production of the first shift at 90 working days instead of 90 calendar days. We may introduce a corrected timeline soon.
